Our research standard

How we rank creator software

Our job is to reduce a crowded market to five useful choices, then show enough evidence for you to disagree intelligently.

Build a real shortlist

We start with tools that publicly support the platform and workflow in question. A generic creator product does not qualify just because it mentions agencies.

Verify the important claims

Platform support, access method, feature scope, and pricing are checked against current vendor pages. Every guide links the sources used.

Rank for a clear use case

Best overall is only one answer. We also name the strongest fit for budget, scale, multi-platform work, security, or a specialized workflow.

What we evaluate

Each article defines criteria for its own market, but five questions appear in almost every review:

  • Does it solve the workflow named in the search?
  • Is access appropriate for a creator and team?
  • Are the important features live now?
  • Can a buyer understand the real price?
  • Which user should choose something else?

Desk research and hands-on testing are different

The first OFM Wiki guides are desk-researched buyer's guides. We verify public product information, pricing, support documentation, and connection methods, but we do not describe a tool as hands-on tested unless a reviewer has actually used it.

As hands-on testing is added, guides will state which plan was used, how long it was tested, the account type, and any vendor-provided access. Until then, the language stays limited to what the evidence supports.

Pricing and updates

Every ranked tool carries a pricing note and verification date. We use public USD pricing where possible and call out revenue tiers, per-creator billing, add-ons, seller fees, or expired promotions that could change the final cost.

A changed price does not automatically change a ranking, but it triggers a value review. Major platform support, access, or security changes trigger a full guide review.

Commercial relationships

There are currently no connected products in the rankings. If ownership, compensation, affiliate tracking, vendor access, or another material relationship is introduced later, it will be identified clearly and will not guarantee placement or exempt a tool from the published criteria.
